10 Must Visit Islands In Cebu

Cebu is comprised of beautiful islands and islets. Because of that, it has always been famous for beach bums and island hoppers. It is so beautiful and serene that these islands are also the reason that Cebu has pinned its name in an international travel magazine’s list of the world’s best islands. If you’re planning to visit Cebu and explore, here are some of the islands to include in your list:

Bantayan Island

Bantayan Island is located on the northernmost part of Cebu. From the city proper, it is about 4 to 5 hours of travel. Aside from the beaches in Bantayan, other famous attractions in the area include the ruins, the Obo-Ob Mangrove Eco Park, Paradise beach and Virgin Island.

La Manok Island

La Manok Island is another paradise in the northernmost part of Cebu. This teensy island is not often visited by tourists as it’s located between Masbate and Cebu. You’ll only find a few small bamboo huts on this island. It serves as the pit stop or resting area for fishermen. You’ll be impressed by the turquoise water and white, pebbly sand. Be careful when you swim though, I got stung by a jellyfish while swimming.

Sumilon Island

Down South is the island of Sumilon. This beautiful island is home to a 4-star resort, Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort. You can relax here after taking your Cebu whale shark watching tour. The resort also offers other activities. You can try glamping, perhaps?

Malapascua Island

If you are in deep sea diving, Malapascua Island has a lot to offer. This island is frequented by divers who want to get a glimpse of the thresher sharks. Manta rays are also a regular sight when you go diving.

Carnaza Island

Another island that’s not overrun with people is Carnaza Island. You’ll find unspoiled, white powdery sand beaches that could compare with other beautiful beaches in the world. You can go around on foot in this relatively small island. If you want to enjoy the beach without having to run into a lot of people, Carnaza Island is the place to go.

Kinatarcan Island

Kinatarcan Island (Guintacan Island) is a charming island that offers travelers a chance to experience rustic island life in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Moreover, the whole Kinatarcan island is just about nine kilometers long as its length, and two kilometers as its width, which means ambling around the whole island for only 2-3 hours is very possible.

Camotes IsIands

Camotes is consists of three major Islands namely; Pacijan Island, Poro Island, Ponson Island and one Islet known as Tulang Island. Additionally, Camotes is also known as the “Lost Horizon Of The South”. There are a lot of stunning Cave Pools, white sand beaches, and a boat load of beach Resorts to choose from if you want to relax and have an amazing vacation. Renting a motorbike is the best way to explore both known and secluded tourist spots on the Island.

Badian Island

If you’re looking for the perfect beach getaway, include the Island of Badian on your list. You’ll also find the world-class Badian Island Wellness and Resort here. This hotel is known to be very expensive though. However, there are still other water activities that you can do on this island. Badian has clear blue waters making it an ideal diving site.

Pescador Island

If you want to go for a good dive, Pescador Island has plenty to offer. The marine diversity of this island makes it seem like an underwater garden. Pescador Island is also the perfect spot if you want to see some dolphins. You just have to come very early, though. If you want a hassle-free trip to Pescador Island or an island-hopping retreat, contact a Cebu travel agency. They’ll be able to arrange the perfect itinerary for you.

Mactan and Olango Island

Both of these Islands can be enjoyed in a day. You get to see the rich marine life of Mactan and Olango Island through Island hopping, diving, and snorkeling. Also, cycling around Olango Island is the best way to explore the Island and enjoy all what it has to proffer.

Cebu has always been among the top places to visit because of its beautiful beaches and shorelines. Those are just 7 islands in Cebu that I’ve shared to you. There are still more waiting to be explored. Book your trip to Cebu now and enjoy the majestic beauty this place has to offer.
